1: Pick five fandoms. List them in alphabetical order.

2: Visit this site to find your first RANDOM POEM OF POWER. Write down the 5th line (yes, even if it's an E.E. Cummings poem and you wind up with an apostrophe). Repeat five times and - you guessed it - list them in alphabetical order! (No cheating, mind! This is a challenge and it's always been about creativity.)

3: I think you can see where this is going. Write a very quick 50-word half-drabble for each fandom (try to do it all in one sitting), using the line from the poem as a prompt. You don't have to include it in the half-drabble - it's just inspiration.

4: Bravo! Have a cookie.

Do I have five fandoms I can say something in? Do I have enough brain to write to a wordcount, or at all? Who the fuck knows.

(Three out of five of the fandoms I came up with are video games with minimal to no plot. What does this say about my state of brain? Probably nothing good.)

1: Animal Crossing - And the great arras-hangings, made (The Gallery - Andrew Marvell)

Blathers wanders the halls of his new museum at night. His museum! True, the exhibits are few yet - a solitary moth flutters in the butterfly room, a lone diplodocus pelvis presides over the great room where a model meteor hovers in one corner presaging extinction - but it will quickly grow.

2: Breath of the Wild - Have gone to their eternal rest (The City in the Sea - Edgar Allan Poe)

The Shrine of Resurrection should work, Zelda tells them, the hesitance of her scientific rigor at odds with her faith in the sword's words.

(The damned hero-choosing sword talks now. Why is Revali even surprised anymore.)

They just have to wait. And wait. And wait.

At least they're dead.

3: Lupin III - In a Sieve they went to sea! (The Jumblies - Edward Lear)

"It's advanced technology!" Lupin says. "I stayed up all night inventing it. The wire mesh generates an interference field that increases the water's surface tension to pressurize the submersible at depth--"

"It looks like a tea ball," Goemon declares.

"Will it affect the surface tension of our feet?" Jigen asks.

4: Pokemon - My county is Kiltartan Cross (An Irish Airman Foresees His Death - William Butler Yeats)

"Dude?" the Geodude asks.

"No, I don't know where we are either," the trainer says. She sits down against a roadside marker and pulls an improbably large atlas out of her backpack. "We were in Galar, but we've been hiking for a while. We might have wandered into another region."

5: Star Wars - Therefore I grieve, not that I was not loved (She Was Too Kind, Wooed Too Persistently - Samuel Butler)

Wedge lost four pilots today. He grieves them all, but it's Wes he misses. Hobbie hasn't spoken since the battle; Corran and Tycho are both having silent panic attacks at being back in Isard's custody; Wedge himself has serious doubts about their position. Wes would know how to comfort everyone.

Jesus, fifty words is *short*.

Fifty words is not much, but you make good use of them.

That does seem like something that would happen in a Lupin III story.

Jesus, fifty words is *short*

You still pack a lot into few words, though! I like all these.
