they say aslan is on the move
Aug. 22nd, 2019 10:24 pmI have a bed that came in a box, and a dishwasher that goes swish, and a lamp and a bathtub and an air conditioner. The stove does not have any temperature markings on it, so they're putting a new stove in tomorrow. There is pizza in a box in the fridge, because the fridge is big enough to hold a pizza box. The fridge also has a freezer but that does not have anything in it yet because I forgot my ice cube trays I bought, cause I did not have room in the minifridge freezer for ice cubes. I did not take a bath because it was a long day and I am wobbly but there will be a bath tomorrow hopefully. Also I bought a Halloween doormat.

Jul. 18th, 2019 09:41 pmSo here’s a question. I am attempting, by hook or by crook, to move into a Real Apartment™ within the next month or two. My current place does not have a kitchen, only a minifridge and a tiny microwave, so my diet has been extremely limited for the past… year and change, I think.
What do real people eat? I’m still a broke-ass millennial with long working hours, but… I’m literally just looking at my habits and at all the possibilities that are going to open up to me (assuming I am actually able to move), and going sort of “we forgot the sound of wind, the smell of grass, we even forgot our own name, precioussss”. What… what tools and ingredients are important to have? What are some meals you eat? How do you make them and how long do they take to cook, and how much of that requires Attention? How do you crockpot? We knew how to cook, once upon a time, precious, but that was long long ago in another life.
(Also, I only ever knew how to cook in bulk. The few recipes I half-remember start with things like “a dozen eggs” or “an industrial-size can of kidney beans”, and the cookery equipment to match. Cooking for one person, even a tank like me, is a whole different project. As
tkingfisher says, “nobody will sell you half a tomato”.)
#how do cookery #this is a legitimate question #please tell me things #even things like #i like to put a can of chili over nachos and put kraft singles on that #would be immensely helpful #i legitimately do not remember most of these things #i feel like there was something i really liked to do with a can of chili that i do not remember #i've been eating the same three things since eternity began
