over the past couple days i've taken out the rest of the guardians in my botw savefile. well, there are a couple left in shrines, i think, but i did all the overworld ones and all the combat shrines. i'm down to twelve shrines left, which are:

* shora hah, "blue flame", north eldin on the crab-shaped island. longish and a bit annoying, and i think i need to pick up a torch. has what might be the last guardians to take out.

* mogg latan, "synced swing", satori mountain. hate. hate hate hate. jumping over bottomless pits with precise timing and placement, and if you fail enough times or softlock and have to reload, you get sent back to the beginning. i'm not good at platforming and i don't enjoy it, and this game isn't even designed for platforming in! hate so much.

* kah okeo, "wind guide", buttfuck nowhere in south tabantha. hate. the only reason i hate it less than mogg latan is it's not a useful warp point, being hidden in a crack in the ground with a lid on top, so i don't have to go there as often. you have to ride a balloon platform through a maze of spikes, directing it with the imprecise wind gusts of flapping a giant leaf, and if it touches one spike you fall into the bottomless pit and get sent back to the beginning. hate!

* typhlo ruins. shrouded in complete darkness and i think you have to kill the hinox at the end, you can't just steal his ball -- i mean shrine orb. the darkness doesn't go away after you complete the puzzle either, so it's one of the least useful warp points on the map. i don't even remember the actual shrine name of this one (i'm doing these from memory because i feel like it).

* suma sahma, "the perfect drink" shrine quest. i thought this one required completing the desert dungeon first, divine beast vah naboris, but apparently not. i've placed the portable warp point there, and i should be able to tackle the quest of transporting a block of ice past a bunch of fire-breathing monsters, i just haven't decided whether to kill the monsters or ignore them. either way they'll despawn once the quest is complete, so i can't get them later.

* "a brother's roast" shrine quest for "greedy hill" shrine, which i also can't remember the name of because it's deep in gorko tunnel and not a very good warp point. another one where i have to carry something past monsters, except if i put the item down it rolls away, and so does the monster loot. haven't decided whether to kill all the monsters for this one either. also thought i'd have to clear the eldin dungeon but the guide says not.

* voo lota, "the winding route", warbler's nest. this one does require completing divine beast vah medoh; i tried playing the song without doing the quest, and nothing happened. also instead of a bottomless pit this one is a glider maze that drops you in lava if you fail! the lava only does a heart of damage, but it's still irritating.

* "path of hidden winds", rito flight range, which i usually know the name of but i've been ignoring it because it annoys me. more navigating precise times and placements over bottomless pits, now with one single guardian that shoots you out of the air while you're trying to land on a moving platform. not quite as much hatred because at least they do give me fan gusts for vertical altitude, even if the altitude is barely enough sometimes.

* dagah keek, veiled falls, zora's domain. i've been putting it off because i don't really want to fish up the ceremonial trident and then have to tote it around until it breaks. why can't i have more weapon slots. but it's just "get weapon, use glider, jump attack from the air on shrine pedestal", and it's a really useful warp point for kilton (the only shrine warp he actually spawns near instead of being a tedious hike away), so i should probably get it sooner rather than later.

* the second kakariko shrine, which i'm also forgetting the name of because i just warp to ta'loh naeg. i just need to do the firefly quest and then the actual shrine questline, but i've been putting it off because i'm bad at fighting yiga blademasters and his windcleaver usually despawns in the cutscene so i can't even pick it up, which irritates me.

* sand seal race shrine, gerudo desert. this one does require naboris to be completed. i'm putting off naboris because i don't want yiga randomly spawning while i'm trying not to aggro other enemies. i also never use this warp point because i just go to daqo chisay outside gerudo town.

* and eventide island. which i'm putting off until after i do all four divine beasts and possibly the champion's ballad, because it's one of those quests that removes all your inventory items and makes you fight high-level enemies with tree branches. but it doesn't remove key items, so you still have runes, champion powers, and your normal hearts and stamina, plus any meal powers you activated before landing -- most people go in with a 30-minute level 3 attack or defense buff. (i do defense. there are too many octoroks.) this is why i never get the tunic of the wild early enough for it to actually be useful.
