May. 29th, 2019 07:54 amI think I just dreamed about... it was all very symbolic, but there was definitely a chicken I had adopted from an animal shelter in about 2008, and it symbolized something about my fannish career or my emotional well-being or both, and there was a distressing bit where ( threats of animal harm ) (which was extremely on the nose and says some things not just about my bio-incubator's style of emotional abuse but about the ways I'm starting to be able to recognize it), but then I was both startled to realize how long I had had my chicken, cause it was having a birthday party (we have recently had the anniversaries of both my joining fandom and my refusing an order from my bio-incubator for the first time), and startled to realize that within the past year or so it had [morphed into / become healthy enough to make it evident that it was], not in fact a chicken, but a peacock. It had been very mangy and battered but I had taken such good care of it that its feathers were finally growing in all nice and shiny.
(Apparently in my head a healthy chicken-peacock-symbol-thing looks more like an owl fledged in peacock tailfeathers. Also the feather "eyes" are solid physical objects like little organic plastic medallions. XD)
Anyway. That's full of symbolism I can overanalyze later, but I did want to note it down. Because I am taking really good care of myself, and apparently my dreams are proud of me. ^_^
